e very careful of this seller. I recently brought a T5 transporter from this dealer, 12 months mot no advisory’s, he had it put on the day I brought the van. I was very impressed with the company when I was dealing with the son. He’s a very nice charming guy who answered every question and was easy to get along with. But when it came to buy the van I had to then deal with the father.. Wow what a difference their is between father and son. The father is the moodiest, grumpy old man I have ever met. When spending £11,000 with him and he never smiled once. Moaned about everything and anything...The son must take after the mother because he’s nice and polite. If I dealt with the father from the second I arrived, they would not of had the sale!! Anyway let’s get to 3 months down the line, (bare in mind I was off work for 6 weeks with back issues so I couldn’t drive the van, so these problems are like 6 weeks after buying not 3 months). The father has now changed his mind and my 3 month warranty suddenly turned into 2 months.. I have noticed juddering at the front end, I took it to a garage and my wishbones are shot to death, need changing urgently and also need pads and discs all round. Not one of these problems was mentioned on the Mot they had done... they are trying to tell me the damage has been caused since I had it and during the 1800 miles I’ve done since buying... this I know is wrong as I had the same problem on a previous van. One year I had the wishbones as an advisory the next year they needed changing. How have they suddenly gone within 3 months to the point they won’t pass an mot and need sorting urgently... I have reported the Mot centre to the dvsa. They have asked to see the van next week so I’ll update my review with their report. I’m also taking the van to VW to have a full inspection and see what else they have hidden with the dodgy mot centre they use. IF YOU BUY FROM THIS GARAGE, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE VEHICLE CHECKED OVER BY A THIRD PARTY WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK OF BUYING ITAs the seller had wrote below, I did not want any money from them, I said I would cover the discs and brakes but I would of liked them to send the wishbones and Ill pay for the fitting. Yes it was a guy I knew whos garage I took it to but I also asked the father if I took the van to a VW garage and paid for a full inspection report would he then honour the wishbones if VW say they needed changing? But that wasnt good enough for the father, He wanted me to drive back to wales with an unroadworthy van as the parts would fail an MOT so he could decide if they needed changing or not. So he wants me to travel 140 miles in an unroadworthy van to do an inspection that he has already passed. Why not agree to me paying for a VW report and just sending the wishbones?... Anyway jobs been done, vans back on the road and Im hoping there are no other hidden surprises. This garage is reasonable priced and friendly (depending on who you get). So just because Ive had a bad experience it doesnt mean that you will. Id just advise you to get a full check over within the first month as the warranty period changes depending on who you speak to.
