Excelent food good service and brilliant music in the back ground.
The food was really nice, me and the family got a nice roast dinner from there. We each had 3 different meats, lamb, beef and turkey. Couldn't ask for a better meal at the price until, when my mum was charged on her card, the server charged her twice. 120.00 she paid instead of 60.00, she went up the next day to get it sorted and the server said she couldn't refund my mum because the manager wasn't there, I said could you possibly phone the manager so you can have permission to get this cleared up? She said she couldn't do that, and to come again tomorrow to speak with the manager.My Mum went up the next day and got her refund but come home still angry because the server said I can now refund you, my mum asked to speak with the manager, and the server said he's not in, only for someone to tell my mum he was in and his car was out in the car park. COWARD.I thought I would give the place a second chance and go there with my friends for a meal, I ordered the Steak and Ale pie. Lovely pastry, gravy was outstanding and the beef was succulent, home cooked chips were great.As i'm getting to the last part of my pie about to enjoy the last bit and BANG! Massive blond hair wrapped around my piece of beef. Told the lady manager and she took it in the back to the chef to have a look at, before she did that though all 3 of my friends took a good look at the massive blond hair.The chef had the audacity to say it was a piece of plastic from the packaging were the meat came from, that's what the manager came back to tell me, I could even tell on her face that she knew it was bull. How dumb do they think customers are? A piece of plastic is more dangerous than a hair! Choking hazard! Think before you speak or just tell the truth.The manager actually asked me what I wanted to do instead of saying instantly, I will fully comp you for your meal. I had to say that to her. She comped the meal in the end but not my pint xD.I would never go back there again, not even for a drink. It's a shame as well cause the food is nice, beer garden is good in the summer also. Shame. If I could give lower than 1 star I would.
Wonderful place to take a group of people for a get together or celebration. Good food and ale.
Good service in a nice pub atmosphere. limited menu. . . everything with chips which sadly were soggy. but rest of food was very tasty. good selection of desserts. yes would go there again. . . . But please have something other than chips!!!
Cosy old fashioned pub with lovely food. Traditional chips were absolutely delicious. The home made pie fantastic. The only problem we had was we couldn't eat it all.
